Skill Proficiency Renewals (SPR)

A student may renew their prior certification with the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD) through a Skills Proficiency Renewal (SPR), a condensed version of the original test they underwent. For 2026 students will have the option to renew in Unarmed or Sword & Shield. The SAFD requires a minimum of three (3) contact hours for each weapon tested. SPRs are an additional fee separate from the workshop, $125. You may renew without participating in the rest of the workshop.

SPRs will take place in the afternoon on Sunday during the 3rd & 4th period of classes and the test will take place in the 5th period. The schedule will look like this.

Sunday - Part one: 1:30pm - 2:50pm

Sunday - Part two: 3:00pm - 4:20pm

Sunday - Testing: 4:30pm - 5:50pm
